Is it necessary to deal with Industrial Property as an SME?

EUROQUALITY has participated to the 6th European forum organised by the CCI Paris Ile de France on the 19th May 2016 on “Leverage on Intellectual Property to reach Europe”. IP issues were addressed from an SME point of view, which is not so common to be highlighted! Take home message: a relevant IP strategy is crucial and strongly structuring in the development plan of a company, being possibly a driving source of innovation and value creation. Models are various, each company has to define the most convenient one in line with its business model.

BBI INFO DAY

EUROQUALITY has participated to the Info Day organised in Brussels on the 2016 call for proposals of the Biobased Industry – Joint Undertaking on the 21st April 2016. BBI-JU is a public private partnership between the European Commission and the Biobased Industry Consortium to foster the transition of economy into a biobased system. Learning from first calls, the 2016 version is characterised by a will to speed up in the implementation of the strategy to reach the program objectives in 2020. This translates in the enlargement of the call scope – e.g. Blue Growth – and strengthening interactions between value chains. The links with industry is also reminded as a strong expected outcome of proposals.

SME INFODAY – FRANCE

Euroquality has participated to the info day dedicated to the SME funding opportunities at the European level on the 17th June 2016. Speakers have reminded that the Horizon 2020 framework programme, in contrast to previous programmes, is strongly orientated toward industry and makes a large place to SMEs with dedicated new programmes such as the SME instrument, the Fast Track to Innovation Pilot and older tools like Eurostars. The competition is hard but hope is allowed and many SMEs came to attest! Believe in your project and don’t be afraid to fail and try again! The key success factor: demonstrate a strong economic value creation potential.
